Carnaval

Loulé plays host to the oldest and most famous Carnival in Portugal.  Over 3 days, a huge procession consisting of floats, samba and entertainment groups, and giant puppets parades down the main avenue of the city of Loulé.  In parallel, a range of cultural and sporting activities take place, the highlights being the Gala Ball and Carnival Parties.

XVIII Feira dos Enchidos Tradicionais

Visit the 18th Monchique Traditional Sausage Festival.
This is one of the most important events in the south of the country with over 50 exhibitors.
The aims are to familiarize people with the pork products made locally in the uplands of the serra, using the meat of the Iberian pig and traditional methods from the region, and to provide a focal point for promoting and appreciating other produce from the serra such as the traditional medronho, the region´s typical homemade confectionery, honey,...
